Natural Carob Pods – a wholesome snack for rabbits, rodents and parrots

Carob pods (also known as St. John’s bread) are an excellent natural treat and a valuable addition to the everyday diet of herbivorous and omnivorous pets. This Alegia product consists of 100% natural carob, hand-packed and free from artificial colourants, flavours and preservatives.

Carob pods are naturally rich in valuable nutrients:

• dietary fibre to support digestive function and help regulate digestion,
• calcium and phosphorus to support healthy bones and teeth,
• B vitamins (B1, B2) plus vitamins A and E to support the nervous and immune systems and help maintain healthy skin and coat condition,
• easy-to-digest carbohydrates that provide energy and support metabolism.

Regular feeding can support a healthy gut microbiome, help reduce digestive upsets and support immunity. In addition, the natural texture helps promote natural incisor wear in rabbits and rodents – a key element of dental care.

Readily accepted by rabbits, guinea pigs, mice, rats and parrots as a way to introduce new flavours and textures into the diet.

Use with caution for degus and chinchillas – due to naturally occurring sugars, it is best offered only occasionally and in small amounts.

Feeding instructions: offer as a treat or as an addition to the staple diet 3–4 times per week. Adjust the portion to the animal’s size and needs.
